Understand what your groceries actually cost
You already know groceries got more expensive. You probably cannot say by how much, on what, or at which store — because the evidence is on a pile of receipts nobody reads. Basket reads them, keeps the history, and answers the question properly.

The number on the shelf is not the price
A shelf tells you one number on one day. It does not tell you that the same coffee was eleven kronor cheaper three weeks ago, that the bag quietly lost 75 grams last spring, or that the bigger pack has been worse value all year.
Your receipts contain every one of those facts. They are just stored in the least usable format imaginable — thermal paper, in a drawer, in the order you happened to shop.
What a single line hides
153,33 kr/kg. The 500g pack next to it at 72,00 is 144,00 kr/kg, so the one that looked dearer was cheaper.

What it does
Everything below is built on one thing: your own receipts, checked by you before they count.
Receipts become data
Photograph a till roll or upload the PDF your store emails you. Every line is read out: product, quantity, unit price, discount. You check it before anything is saved.
Honest unit prices
1.5 litres at 21.95 and 1 litre at 16.50 are not comparable until someone divides. Basket does it on every line, so the cheaper option is the one that looks cheaper.
Price history per product
What you paid for coffee every time you have bought it, at which store, on promotion or not. Long enough and the pattern behind the shelf price becomes obvious.
Shrinkflation, caught
The price stayed at 29.90 and the pack went from 500g to 425g. That is a 17% rise nobody announced. Basket compares package sizes across purchases and flags it.
Store comparison on your basket
Not a national average. A comparison of what the things you actually buy have cost you, store by store, from your own receipts.
Shopping lists that know the cost
Build a list from what you usually buy and when you last bought it. Basket estimates the total before you leave the house, from your own price history.
Your shopping is nobody else’s business
Grocery receipts are unusually revealing. They carry your household size, your diet, your health, your habits and your income bracket. Basket treats them accordingly.
- Your receipts and purchase history are visible only to you. Not to other accounts, and not to administrators.
- Your purchase history is never sold, shared or handed to an advertiser. Advertisers receive counts, never people.
- You can export everything Basket holds about you, as a plain file, whenever you like.

Most of what Basket does, you can do by hand once you know what to look for. These explain the method, with Swedish receipts as the worked example.
